It seems as if the stock market can’t fall completely because these computer programs keep boosting it back up. Is a market correction even possible in the day and age of computer programmed trading?

Have you been watching the markets for the last three weeks? What do you call that? We’re in the middle of one of the sharpest market "corrections" the world has ever seen.
The only thing computers enable traders to do now is trade faster and with more accuracy. The prices of equities may be affected *somewhat* by the rapid movement in prices because computers allow for faster transactions. But the bottom line is that the markets are affected by the very simple theory of supply and demand. People decide the inherent value of a stock and drive it lower or higher based on their desires to own it or sell it.
