I came from México as a legal immigrant not because I didn’t have a job, I did have a good one, but since my wife is too used to the US life, I thought that it would be hard for her to live there. I lived very though economical situations while I was growing in my country, but I know for sure that it made me really value things. Generally I’m with you, but on this point I disagree. Nobody wants to give up a luxury! People will fight tooth and nail to keep them A green agenda will never survive if you continually ask people to give up luxuries. You also have to remember that some of those supposed luxuries are necessities. Some people can’t just bike to work- they have to drive.
