Feb. 26 (Bloomberg) — Paul Mortimer-Lee, global head of market economics at BNP Paribas SA, talks about the U.K. economy, which emerged from recession at a faster pace than previously estimated in the fourth quarter.
Gross domestic product rose 0.3 percent from the third quarter, compared with a previous calculation of 0.1 percent growth, the Office for National Statistics said today. Fundamentals and trading items don’t align across many markets. Will USD strength move us to deflation. People are celebrating the “good news” which consists mostly of financial jiggering. There are fundamental reasons why the dollar might get stronger in the short-term which will be mentioned in a later presentation (Greece Insolvency, UK German Banks). We are going to be whipsawed. Gold’s move was parabolic, these move usually retrace.
