CorPlan wins IBM-based budgeting and forecasting rollout at SkyCity

Performance management and business intelligence solution provider CorPlan NZ has rolled out IBM Planning Analytics software for budgeting and forecasting at SkyCity Entertainment Group.

Adam Williams, SkyCity’s finance manager – systems, said budgeting and forecasting were essential in managing the casino operator’s complex operations.

“A tool like IBM Planning Analytics supports distributed management,” he said.

“We pay close attention to the results, down to the daily level on budgets against forecasts. That feeds into decisions around capital spend on projects, what we can set aside for dividends, and so on.”

CorPlan was selected through a competitive tender based on its reputation for delivering solutions, Williams said.

“Our assessment showed that IBM Planning Analytics was the best solution for our requirements. This isn’t an upgrade but a brand-new implementation eliminating shortcomings and providing extended functionality.”
